Dear families,
The children have coped with the high temperatures so well this week. They've kept calm and carried on in true Vineyard style.
I feel lucky that I was able to join year 6 in Osmington Bay where, in contrast to the year 5 trip, the weather has been amazing - much more about sun cream, than raincoats. They have had a wonderful week and have taken every opportunity given to them. Thank you to all the staff who organised and went on the trip. Everyone is now exhausted - a true sign of a great time.
Year 2 impressed the staff at Hampton Court Palace on Tuesday with their questions about Henry VIII. One said, "Very advanced knowledge - hats off to your teachers!" A proud moment indeed that the children are learning and retaining knowledge from the curriculum in such great detail.
Every school has a school improvement partner who supports the school in their development by asking questions, but also helping to answer them too. I am delighted to say that our SIP was extremely impressed with the progress in teaching and learning we have made over the year. I will be able to share with you the key areas of school development we will be working on next, in September.
Lastly, a huge congratulations to Rachel Chambers, who is expecting her second baby in October.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend,
Frances Bracegirdle
