At this school, the Tom Gates, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Man series of books are extremely popular but once children have read these books they are often left feeling lost. Planet Omar is a fantastic next step from these books and contains that same sense of humour which will get children laughing but with higher level vocabulary and deeper storylines which will get children to push their reading to the next level.

Page by page, we experience a day in the lives of two boys and their families – one from inner city Sydney, Australia and the other from a small, remote village in Morocco.

These worlds couldn’t be further apart, yet with the showing of the parallel lives of the two families, we see a simple truth. We are the mirror of each other.
