A busy week in Gems as pupils have been exploring Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book. Through repetition, pupils have become familiar with the characters and are excited to see pirates, ghosts and knights. We have also been operating in secret as we prepare our Mother’s Day cards to give to our families on Friday. 

In phonics we have been learning/ recapping the sound ‘F’. Pupils have worked hard in speedy sounds and phonics this week. We are delighted with how handwriting is improving and the effort that pupils put into the sessions.

Please continue Phonics work at home if you can. But please rest assured, there is no expectation to know all phonics. All pupils are on a journey, and we want them to work at the pace that suits them. We find that LittleBig Foxes, Number Blocks and RWI songs on their websites are a great source of fun and education.

• If the weather continues to be wet, please ensure a change of clothes. We do everything we can to keep pupils away from puddles but as you can understand, they are very enticing.
