Sports Premium
The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per annum for the next three academic years to improve the provision of Physical Education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding has been jointly provided by the Departments for Education; Health; and Culture, Media and Sport. It is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
Key achievements at The Vineyard to date include the following:
- A redesigned curriculum following three new areas of intent 1-Becoming a better mover (physical) 2- Develop Vineyard citizens (social) 3-Engage and excite (emotional)
- The new bespoke PE curriculum was analysed and specific skills found in each of the curriculum elements highlighted. Running and Dynamic Movement, Jumping, Leaping and Landing, Rolling, Balance, Throwing, Catching, Striking
- Implementation of the recovery curriculum across the whole school with all chn developing the same range of skills, differentiated to their ability.
- Over the year children have had access to 56 different extra-curricular options with only 10 of those not physical activity (Technokids and Art)
- New PE assessment tool to measure ‘Engage and Excite'
