Our first week has been filled with fun, exploration, and learning! The children have settled in beautifully and have enjoyed getting to know their new learning environment and friends. We spent time playing in the sandpit, building castles, digging, and sharing toys with our new friends. We've enjoyed listening to captivating stories, sparking our imaginations and helping us wind down after playtime. We went on a tour of the school, discovering different areas, including the lunch hall, and learning about the school routines.The children created handprints to remind us of our helpful "handy helpers," who will assist with small classroom jobs. We met our class mascots (Opal owl, Topaz dragon and Jade turtle), and the children had a wonderful time playing with them, adding a sense of fun and responsibility to our classroom.The children have quickly adapted to our morning routines, showing great independence and enthusiasm. One of our big achievements was learning how to self-register in the morning, helping the children take ownership of their day from the start. During snack time, we focused on saying "please" and "thank you," and the children have done brilliantly in showing respect and kindness. We had fun exploring our outdoor area, where the children climbed, ran, and explored nature.

  

  

  

                                  

Key messages:

• We will be giving children ‘star moment’ sheets next week. This will be an opportunity for us to celebrate their achievements that they have at home with you in our weekly year group assembly. You can write in the star template what your child has achieved, examples could be - riding a bike for the first time, getting a medal in football, putting their face under water for the first time in a swimming lesson, helping lay the table at home etc. Please place the stars in your child’s bag ready for the class assembly and these will be displayed in the classroom 

• A reminder that children are not to play on the climbing frame or use the school equipment before and after school, including siblings 

• Please can you give us donations of clean recycling to add to our junk modelling as we use it throughout the year - small boxes, toilet rolls etc. However we cannot accept anything that once contained nuts, eggs or fish

• Our first PE lesson will be on Thursday 26th September. Please can you make sure your child comes into school dressed in their full PE kit with trainers every Thursday 

• Friday 20th September - Pyjama reading day. Bring in £1 and your child can wear their pyjamas to school!
