Dear families,
I am incredibly proud of the way all our year 6 children have approached their SATs this week. They've been calm (on the outside at least) and have taken a very mature attitude towards the tests in grammar, punctuation & spelling, reading and maths. Well done to each and every child!
Next Thursday, at 8.45am, there is an opportunity for you to come in and see your child's books. Following this, there is a maths workshop hosted by Mr Jackson, which hopefully many of you will be able to attend.
As we are approaching half-term, I have been thinking about the different trips that the children have been on this term. Year 3 went to Hampton Court Palace for history and Kew Gardens as part of their art curriculum, Year 5 visited the Globe Theatre to support their English learning on Shakespeare and Year 4 had a PE lesson at the Marble Hill adventure park. Next week, Reception will be going to an urban farm. On top of these opportunities, Year 2 have had scooter training and Year 5 are learning how to debate next week! Year 1 are going to Brooklands museum after half-term and a trip is being planned for our GEMS children. These trips are all made possible due to the financial donations families make to the school. Thank you for enabling us to provide an enriched curriculum.
If you haven't had a chance yet, please take some time this weekend to complete The Vineyard Family Survey to help us make school be the best it can be. Click the link here. The deadline is Thursday 23rd May. Thank you!
It was fantastic to see so many of you at the May Fair on Saturday. Thank you to those who donated delicious home-made cupcakes which flew off the stall. This Saturday’s school event is all about football and family fun, taking place on the school site (see PTA section below). We can’t wait to see as many families join us as possible.
Wishing you a lovely weekend,
Frances Bracegirdle
