Dear all families,
The week started with the new school council introducing themselves in assembly. They confidently explained their role to the children. The first priority is to try and improve lunchtimes so over the next couple of weeks they are going to conduct a survey. This will allow us to know more about what different children would like to improve their lunchtime. Once the survey is completed the councillors will bring it to the leadership team.
Thank you to those parents who have donated money to 'buy a bench' for the playground. We know that not all children want to run around and that some want to sit, play games, draw or just have a chat. We will purchase these items as soon as we can.
All Vineyard staff received some extremely valuable CPD yesterday delivered by Peter Cowley who is the online safety advisor for Richmond. It was extremely insightful. He also delivered a parent workshop last night. Here are the slides which we recommend you all look at as they are full of lots of very good tips for keeping our children safe online. For us the key point is to make sure the correct parent controls are set with passwords the children can't crack!
Children's Mental Health Week will take place from 6th February and this year's theme is Let's Connect. There will be assemblies on this theme with further discussion in class.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at the curriculum workshop (art, history & geography) and open classroom event next Friday see below.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
