Dear families,
I hope you all had a wonderful half term and were able to spend some quality time together as families. My trip to Scotland where I did some mountain biking certainly took me out of my comfort zone and I had to work very hard to stay on my bike!
The vision, values, curriculum workshop on Wednesday in the hall was a huge success. Over 100 people attended the event and we have received some very positive feedback, which is always lovely. We repeated the event online on Thursday evening so we could capture as many of you as possible as we know it is not always easy for you to be able to come into school. If you missed the event please have a look at the slides.
Our next event is a workshop on how we teach maths at The Vineyard. This will be held in the school hall on Wednesday 23rd November at 6.15pm.
It was so lovely to see come in so your children could show you their books and what they have been learning this term. I hope you found this informative and you enjoyed celebrating with your children what they have already achieved this year in only a few weeks. I am very proud of all the children. I regularly look in the books and I am overwhelmed by how much the presentation and handwriting has improved across the school. It is also great to see the new feedback and marking system in operation in English and maths - the other subjects are next!
Parents joining for lunch - below are two reviews
‘Thank you for taking the time to arrange this wonderful experience for me. I am very satisfied with the school lunch. Children have a balanced nutrition, sufficient portions and the food tastes good.’
‘"I am absolutely for school meals. Nowadays when you can't get a coffee under £3 it is amazing to see what fits on the plate in the school for less than a coffee. Hand on heart: it would be very challenging to compete with school meals. The variety, the choices, the fact that it's a freshly made 2 course hot meal, planned all to meet government standards - just not comparable with the cold packed lunch. 3 weeks menu cycle, different options each day, balanced nutrition and extras (salad bar, fresh bread) to fill up for growing and exploring. Amazing staff helping and encouraging children to eat well, it was so lovely to experience.
For me it is very important that my daughter is well at school. I was very impressed to see and taste the menu, absolutely thumbs up for school meals.’
Have a lovely weekend,
